59°46.9’N, 21°22.2’E is the most southern part of Finland – island called Utö.
It is most oldest place in Finland, where used to lay a lighthouse on (around year 1753). Navigating nearby Utö is not the easiest route, and island got known from sunken ships nearby it. Place is very harsh and bare, but at the same time beautiful and peaceful, when you are so in touch of the ocean. Definitely one of my favorite spots, place where I could stay for longer period.
We sailed in good conditions with AnjouCrew to stop by, and had really good moments in the sunset underneath the lighthouse. Place is mesmerizing in the sunset, when you can see the whole ocean no matter which way you point your eyes on to. Utö can be very tricky place in terrible conditions. I personally use Yr for forecasts, as it shows weather, wind, air pressure and so on. And I feel it is the most accurate forecast near by.
